The Air Jordan 4 “Zen Master” skipped America — and it is still one of the loudest 4s we track

Air Jordan 4 Zen Master DH7138-506 tie-dye side profile

Phil Jackson coached Michael Jordan at the Chicago Bulls with tools that sounded strange in an NBA locker room at the time: meditation, mindfulness, Eastern philosophy. That is where the nickname came from. Zen Master. In 2022 Jordan Brand gave the nickname its own Air Jordan 4, and more than four years later this pair is still one of the most heavily charged 4s in our entire catalogue.

Lilac clouds, with black everywhere to keep them in check

Look at the upper and you do not see panels, you see a sky. Lilac, lavender, blots of pink and white running into one another like tie-dye, printed on a fabric with a fine grid in it. It is the kind of print that would drown a quiet silhouette. On a 4 it works, because the model brings so much structure of its own: the black netting in the side panels, black laces, a black collar. That black holds the clouds in place. The wings and the heel tab are translucent, almost frosted glass, so the print keeps running straight through them. Cement Grey on the midsole with that classic shark-tooth, black underneath, a visible Air unit in the heel. The only truly bright accent sits up top — a Bright Crimson Jumpman on the black tongue label. And inside that tongue the name is printed. Zen Master, just for whoever laces them up.

It never officially reached the United States

Here is where the story gets interesting. The Zen Master was first set for March 2022, slid to June, and in the end released only outside the US, at a selection of retailers overseas. A Jordan 4 that skips Jordan Brand’s home country is not something you see often. The retail price was 210 dollars, but anyone living in America could not put that number down anywhere on release day. You can read it in the Hypescore. 85, band ATOMIC: critical mass, the Geiger counter is going. This is not a shoe that slowly cooled off in a clearance bin after the drop. Four years on it is still fully charged.

From €162 to €360 on Solezilla.com, and your size sets the number

We count eleven active offers today across ten shops, all on the same style code and all priced in euros — there is no UK or US listing on this pair right now, so buyers paying in pounds or dollars should factor shipping and import on top. The floor sits at €162.18 at Side Kicks, a UK marketplace, followed by Mentastore just under €180 and House of Sneakers around €190, with StockX at €199. From there it climbs through Geturbrick, Sneaker Ask and Collect District between €230 and €249, and the top end runs Stadium Goods near €308, Klekt at €321 and KeepItSneaker at €360. Nearly all of it is consignment and resale — regular retail is long gone. With a pair four years old it is usually the leftover sizes that set the price, so a from-price of €162 does not mean your size sits there. Set your size, then compare.

The Zen Master is not a quiet classic. It is one of the loudest 4s you can buy without a collab label on it, with a story that actually holds up and a print you will not find anywhere else in the line. Check the Zen Master page to see which shop still has your size and for how much, and lay it next to the rest of Jordan if you are torn between this and something calmer. Rule the Hype.
