The Vulcanized is Off-White’s low, skate-inspired sneaker, from the brand the late Virgil Abloh founded in Milan in 2013. Where Off-White often makes large, luxurious silhouettes, the Vulcanized deliberately opts for a simpler, more everyday shape.
Vulcanization as a basis
The name refers to the construction: a vulcanized rubber sole bonded to the canvas or leather upper, just like a classic skate shoe. That yields a flexible, low profile with a familiar, timeless look.
Off-White in the details
The brand’s hand remains recognizable: the signature arrows, quotation marks and industrial branding that make an otherwise restrained model unmistakably Off-White. In this way the Vulcanized brings the house’s design language to a more accessible silhouette.
