Launched in June 2019, the Nike Air Tailwind 79 ‘Be True’ (2019) pays tribute to the LGBTQIA+ rights activist and the Pride flag’s creator, the late Gilbert Baker whilst celebrating the 50-year anniversary of the Stonewall uprising. This special edition comes with a mesh and suede upper, rainbow shades to honour the community within the detailing of the heel. A full-length Air midsole and grippy rubber outsole are found underfoot, while Sockliner graphics represent the meanings from the original 1978 flag.
