Saucony’s marathon racer
The Saucony Endorphin Elite 2 is the race shoe at the top of Saucony’s Endorphin line, built for the fastest work on the road. It’s a plated racer: a carbon plate embedded in a thick layer of superfoam, with a pronounced rocker that rolls you forward from heel to toe. The upper is an ultra-thin race mesh that barely adds weight. Everything is aimed at speed over the marathon and shorter distances, and this is the model’s second generation.
Carbon plate and superfoam
The core is the combination of plate and foam. A carbon plate provides stiffness and energy return, while the thick, lightweight PEBA superfoam springs energy back with each step. The high stack height and aggressive rocker produce a smooth, forward roll that keeps the pace high. The thin, breathable mesh over the foot keeps weight to a minimum.
Made for racing
The Endorphin Elite 2 is a pure racer, not an everyday trainer. The lightweight construction, plated sole, and fast geometry are tuned for races and personal bests, where every second counts. For long training runs, runners typically use a more cushioned, durable model; you save the Elite for the fast work.
At the top of the Endorphin line
The Endorphin Elite 2 succeeds the original Endorphin Elite and sits above the other models in the range, such as the training- and tempo-focused Endorphin Speed. Where the Speed is a daily, cushioned trainer, the Elite is the top racing model. Together they form Saucony’s speed line.
What varies by version
The carbon plate, the superfoam, the rocker shape, and the thin race mesh remain the same across versions. What varies is the colorway and the men’s or women’s version. Put two versions side by side and the shoe is the same; only the styling changes.
