About Puma Speedcat Plus

The upgraded racing sneaker

The Puma Speedcat Plus is a modern, upgraded version of the Speedcat, the slim racing sneaker with roots in motorsport. It retains the low, streamlined silhouette and the thin race sole of the original, but mixes mesh with leather or nubuck and keeps a regular lacing, whereas the classic Speedcat relies purely on suede. The Formstrip runs large across the side. It’s the racer shape in a slightly richer, more wearable jacket.

Mesh, leather and a thin sole

The construction combines sport and comfort. A breathable mesh fills parts of the upper, with leather or nubuck on the toe, the heel and around the Formstrip. The lacing is standard, and underfoot lies the characteristic thin, flat sole that gives the Speedcat its racing feel. The whole remains low to the ground and flexible on the foot.

Quilted, Play and more

Within the Speedcat Plus there are various versions, such as the Quilted with a stitched panel and the Play version. The differences lie in material treatment and detailing, while the low racing-sneaker shape stays the same. That makes the offering within this model broad and varied.

Alongside the other Speedcats

The Plus sits beside the classic low Speedcat, the high Speedcat Mid with ankle strap and the comfortable Speedcat Go. Where the Go targets an airy, elastic base and the Mid stays high and pure, the Plus is the upgraded standard lowtop: close to the original, but with slightly richer materials.

What varies by version

The low racing-sneaker shape, the mesh-with-leather upper, the Formstrip and the thin sole remain the same across versions. What changes is the material treatment, such as Quilted, and the colour. Put two versions side by side and the shoe is the same; the trim determines the mood.
