Puma Mayze: the platform sole with teeth
The Mayze does something different from most platform sneakers. Where an elevated sole is usually a smooth wedge, Puma places a block with chunky teeth under the shoe: the tread runs in deep blocks to the side, as if a trail sole had been slid under a court shoe. As a result the extra height looks functional rather than decorative, and that’s exactly why the model works.
The rest of the shoe keeps it restrained. Above the sole is a classic low leather upper with the formstrip in suede across the flank, the brand name in small gold letters beside it, and a pull loop on the heel. In the platform wall PUMA appears as a raised block in relief — a detail that returns on almost every version, even when the colors drop away.
The titles carry a few designations. Lth stands for the leather base version, Stack marks the versions with an even thicker stacked sole, and Luxe points to richer materials. Versions with Dua Lipa or Santa Cruz in the title are collaborations; the construction underneath remains the same.
