Nike Kobe

No signature line has experimented with height like this one. The Kobe 5 was as low as a soccer shoe, at the explicit request of the namesake who believed a basketball shoe should leave the ankle free. The Kobe 9 Elite went the other way four years later and climbed above the ankle like a boxing boot. And within that same ninth generation a low EM appeared alongside that high Elite: the experiment was repeated even within a single number.

Two signatures on every shoe

Members vary widely, but two marks recur. On the heel or side you’ll find Kobe Bryant’s signature stitched or printed in script, and on the tongue sits the line’s sheath emblem: six segments around a center, like a sword scabbard viewed from above. If you need to place a model without a title, look for those two points.

They are not literal reissues: the silhouette remains, but cushioning and materials are updated to current standards. The line has been continued since 2020 in consultation with the namesake’s estate, and demand for the reissues structurally exceeds supply.
