About Nike Calm
Nike Calm
The Calm is Nike’s answer to the demand for soft, molded slides, and the name describes exactly what the model aims for. It is a one-piece foam slide, seamless, with a thick sole that curls up at the edges and a wide strap that fully covers the foot.
The design is deliberately minimal. The branding is not applied but formed directly in the foam, so it is visible only as an embossed detail; under the sole runs a fine ribbed pattern for grip. The foam is soft and light, and many versions feature a marbled print that forms during the casting process, so no two pairs are exactly the same.
The line comes in two forms. The Nike Calm Slide is the open slide with only a strap over the instep, and the Nike Calm Mule closes off the toe so the front of the foot remains protected. Both sit on the same sole.
The positioning is that of recovery footwear: something to put on after sports or at the end of the day. That places the model in the same category as the Nike Offcourt Slide, but softer and without a textile strap.
