About Nike Air Max Motion
Nike Air Max Motion: Air Max reduced to the minimum
Not every model in the Air Max line is a collector’s item, and this one makes no attempt to be. The Motion is the version where everything that isn’t strictly necessary has been removed: one layer of mesh over the entire shoe, one large swoosh on the flank, a thin sole with flex grooves and a small air unit in the heel. No layers, no windows in the side panel, no second material.
That makes it light and flexible, and that’s exactly what it’s made for: daily wear, lots of walking, little fuss. If you’re looking for a shoe that stands out, you won’t find it here. If you’re looking for one you put on and forget, you will.
One detail betrays the family. Behind the swoosh, toward the heel, there’s a panel with a dimpled texture, the same kind of texture that also appears on the Air Max Zero. It’s the only place on the shoe where the material changes.
Pay attention to the numbering in the titles, because it matters here. Some of the variants on this page are called Air Max Motion 2, and that successor has its own page: Air Max Motion 2. There is also a Motion Low. All three share the same premise and differ mainly in the shape of the upper.
If you want the same light feel with more presence underfoot, see the Air Max 270. If you’re looking for the classic shape instead, see the Air Max 90.
On this page you can see which versions of the Nike Air Max Motion are currently hottest according to the Hypescore, the starting price at which they can be found and in how many shops they are in stock.
