About

New Balance 650

The 650 comes from New Balance‘s basketball past and was reissued as an everyday sneaker. The shape has remained; its purpose shifted from the court to the street.

The upper consists of leather with suede panels and a perforated toe for ventilation and the classic court look. Underfoot sits a chunky rubber cupsole with a visible rim. The side panels feature the large N logo, and the collar is mid-high and lined.

The model is mid-cut, which distinguishes it from most low retro runners from the brand. In the range it is labeled both 650 and 650R; it’s the same silhouette. The colorways vary, from Sea Salt Navy Dawn Glow and White Red to the Angora Pack versions.

If you want a lower, slimmer New Balance model for daily wear, look at the New Balance 204L.
