Asics GT-2000: the sole tells you where each technology sits
The GT line from Asics is the stability family, and the GT-2000 is its mid-range model: one step more comfortable than the entry-level, one step more accessible than the flagship. For most runners seeking support this is the model they end up with, generation after generation.
The neat thing is the inscriptions on the sole, because they make the technology readable. On the heel side PureGEL is written, the newer and lighter form of the cushioning gel that Asics owes its name to. Further toward the forefoot is FF Blast+, the foam that gives the shoe its responsiveness. Two names on one sole, then, each in the spot where the component does its work. On the flank the model number is shown with the generation, and the stripes here are not thick bands but thin lines that cross over the midfoot.
