The Adidas Jeans is a low suede sneaker from the brand’s terrace tradition, with its name in script on the forefoot. The shape is slim and low, with the 3-Stripes on the side, a leather heel patch and a gum sole underneath. It’s a shoe from the family of the Samba and the Spezial: simple, timeless, and close to the ground. The name refers to what it was intended for — just to be worn with a pair of jeans.
Born on the terraces
The Jeans belongs to the so-called terrace shoes: adidas models that became popular among British football fans in the seventies and eighties. Those “casuals” deliberately wore smart, European trainers instead of club colours, and the adidas City Series, with models like the Jeans, became a status symbol there. The subcultural story still accompanies the shoe.
Suede, stripes and a gum sole
