adidas took a stroll down memory lane in 2016 with the release of their NMD R1 ‘The Brand With The Three Stripes’ sneakers. Reminiscing on the brand’s beginnings of purchasing their logo for two bottles of whiskey and change, the “Blackout” model sees the iconic Three-Stripes replaced with their literal iteration of the tagline ‘The Brand With The Three Stripes’ in various translations printed in white on an all-black mesh upper.
