Eirik Nielsen and the adidas Crazy
Within adidas, Eirik Nielsen is associated with two basketball models from the Crazy line. The selection is small: just over fifty variations in total, almost all reissues of models from the late 1990s. New colorways are added only sparingly, so the selection remains easy to survey. The Crazy 1 makes up the bulk. It is a mid-high basketball shoe with a closed leather upper, a sole rim that runs forward, and the three stripes used as a structural element rather than decoration. The shoe originally appeared under a different name and has been released as the Crazy 1 since its return, which makes searching by older names difficult.
The Crazy 2 is the successor and features a higher-cut collar and more reinforcement around the ankle. The offering for that model is smaller, so you’ll encounter fewer colorways. Both models mainly appear in varying colorways on the same underlying construction and are comparable in fit.
