Stone Island collabs
Stone Island emerges from Massimo Osti’s Italian materials foundry (1982): research, innovation, and form in a single beam. In sneakers, that shows up in high-tech knits, reflective and thermosensitive fabrics, and military influences. From New Balance racers to skate and football: functional and sharp.
Stone Island is research-first and you can feel it. The label is known for experimental weaves, dye and coating techniques, from thermosensitive to reflective fabrics. In footwear it locks in with craftsmanship: first with Nike (including the Koth Ultra Mid SI and the Sock Dart from 2017), and since 2021 deep with New Balance. That marriage mixes NB’s making culture with Stone Island’s materials lab.
It kicked off with the RC Elite via TOKYO DESIGN STUDIO (2021), with FuelCell cushioning, a 3D upper, and co-branding on the toes. More RC Elite editions followed (2022). In 2023 the 574 Legacy landed with a military nod, compass logo on the tongue, extra suede and grid-structured nylon, plus the futuristic FuelCell C_1. The 991v2 MiUK “Ghost Pack” also joined the line. The range then grew: new 574 Legacy releases (2024), the 998 MiUSA Raso Gommato and Numeric 272 (2025), even on-field performance with the Furon Elite v8 FG (2025) and later Furon/Tekela Elite FG. In 2026 the joint effort continues with the 1890 and new football silhouettes.
