A Campus that looks like you pulled it straight out of the bathroom. And that is exactly the point. The adidas Campus 80s “South Park Towelie” wears an upper made of terry towelling — actual towel fabric, loops and all — in a soft lilac-purple. Not a sticker slapped on the side, but the whole shoe as a nod to Towelie, the forever-chilled towel from South Park.
The purple terry runs over the toe, the sides and the heel, with the white leather 3-Stripes sitting on top as a clean contrast. The heel gets a white leather patch, the laces are made of the same terry as the rest, and underneath sits the cream rubber cupsole that gives the Campus 80s its classic profile. Clean silhouette, wild material. That mix is exactly why it stands out.
Terry on your foot, and it works better than it sounds
On paper, “a shoe made of a towel” sounds like a meme. In person it is just a low adidas with a texture you don’t see anywhere else. The lilac sits between pastel and loud, so you don’t need to build a whole outfit around it. Baggy jeans or a straight cargo, a black or grey hoodie, and you let the shoe do the work. Don’t crowd it with other colours — one statement per fit is enough, and this is the statement. Want to see the rest of the Campus line side by side, the model page has them.
Out of the stores, back in resale
This is not a shoe you still grab off a shelf. The “Towelie” is a 2022 collab and by now it only lives with resale and boutique shops. Most of the market right now is in euros: depending on your size you’ll see it somewhere between about €175 and over €420. There are also single listings in GBP (around £159) and USD (around $211), both from one boutique, so UK and US buyers mostly work off the euro listings and should factor in shipping and import costs. Big spread either way — one size is lowkey doable, the next asks for real money. Normal for a collab that isn’t being remade: scarcity sets the price, and it swings hard per size.
The Hypescore sits at 84 (ATOMIC), so there is still serious charge on this adidas collab — no surprise for something that runs on pure fun and recognition. Whether that’s enough to drop grail money on it is Grail or Bail: one person wants exactly these weird stories on the shelf, the next leaves it and sticks to a regular Campus.
Not sure? Compare the shops and sizes side by side on Solezilla before you pull the trigger — on a shoe where the price jumps this much per size, that can easily save you anywhere from a few euros to a lot more.
