Mercedes-Benz x adidas Samba “Magic Beige” (HP4525): a shoe or an anniversary gift?

Mercedes-Benz x adidas Samba "Magic Beige" (HP4525)

There’s a point where a collaboration stops being about shoes and turns into two logos shaking hands. The Mercedes-Benz x adidas Samba “Magic Beige” balances right on that edge.

A car seat for your foot

Let’s start with what’s actually right. The execution is tidy. The beige leather upper carries a quilted, diamond-pattern stitch lifted straight off a luxury car seat, which is of course exactly the reference. A small silver metal plate on the side, a discreet Mercedes star on the heel, a cream sole underneath. Tonal, neat, expensive-looking. As an object in its own right, nicely done.

But is it a Samba or a billboard?

The discomfort sits in the reason it exists. This drop hangs on “140 years” of Mercedes-Benz, and that’s where it grates. The Samba has been the vehicle brands bolt their story onto for a while now, from fashion houses to, this time, a carmaker. At some point you ask yourself whether you’re buying a shoe or a commemorative gift. The quilted leather is a clever touch, but take the beige away and you’re left with a Samba that borrows most of its character from someone else’s emblem. That’s no crime; it’s just worth knowing what you’re bringing home.

Already out, and then what?

The “Magic Beige” landed in mid-October 2026 through adidas and the collab channels. If you like it, you genuinely like it: the colour is calm and wearable, and a beige Samba goes with just about everything in the closet. If you want something with its own face rather than a borrowed logo, keep walking.

As for the numbers, they say plenty on their own. On Solezilla.com there’s a single active listing right now, one shop at €270, all in euros and nothing in pounds or dollars. That’s a steep ask for a Samba, and the market agrees it’s in no hurry: the Hypescore sits at 4, INERT. UK and US buyers have no local offer to lean on either, so add shipping and import to that €270 before you even think about it. Make of that what you will.

Put the adidas Samba next to its plainer siblings, or scroll the wider adidas range on Solezilla to compare sizes and shops. The Magic Beige page tracks whatever listings come in.

So: a smart collab or an expensive picture? Grail or Bail, I’m curious whether the rest of you warm to this more than I did.
