I let the Nike Air Max 90 “Ironstone Red Stardust” (DM0029-105) pass me by back in the summer of 2023. At the time it looked like one more brown Air Max 90. Seeing the photo again, I don’t quite know what I was thinking — the build is calmer than the name suggests, and the accents land exactly where a 90 can carry them.
Brown suede, white mesh, black leather
The base is textbook Air Max 90: a mudguard of brown suede — the shade Nike calls Ironstone — with off-white mesh over the toe and side, and black leather overlays around the laces and along the heel. Midsole white with a black rim, the rear of the sole back to brown. It’s a lot of different materials sitting next to each other, but because the colours stay close, it never looks busy.
And then the Swoosh. It’s done in a salmon-pink suede, the same material as the mudguard, and that colour comes back in the lining, in the Air Max heel label, in the Air window and as a thin line on the outsole. I’ll be honest: my eye went there first. I’m not objective the moment there’s pink involved, so take the rest with a pinch of salt. What I can say is that it’s soft and warm here, closer to dusty rose than anything loud, and it works with the brown instead of fighting it.
One shoe, several names
Nike lists the colours as Summit White / Ironstone / Black / Red Stardust. In practice almost everyone shortens it to “Ironstone Red Stardust”, and some shops run only “Red Stardust” or “Ironstone Stardust”. Search any of those and you land on the same shoe — handy if you spot it somewhere under a slightly different name.
Thin on offers, all in euros
This is the less easy part. The colourway is over three years old and regular retail is mostly through it. On Solezilla.com we’re seeing eight active listings from six shops, every one in euros — no UK or US offer, so pounds-and-dollars buyers should price in shipping and import. GOAT sits at €92, far enough under the rest that you check size and condition first; the honest floor is StockX and Stadium Goods around €146 to €148, then The Attic at €190, Sneakeregeer at €210 and Klekt up at €272. Retail was €160, so the sensible listings sit right around it.
My advice is plain: with a board this thin, see which sizes exist at all, then compare per size, because the gap between two shops in the same size can be steep. Everything’s together on the Ironstone Red Stardust page. And if you like the make but find the offers too thin, the other Nike Air Max 90 colourways often give you the same build with wider stock. Our Hypescore still has it at 83, ATOMIC — for a shoe this far past release, that just means people are still searching it out.
