There are two ways to look at this Air Max 90. The first: nice camo, solid 90, moving on. The second is mine, and it starts with a number: eight stores currently have this pair listed, with the lowest price at €119 and the highest at €483. That difference isn’t in the shoe. It’s in your size.
What you can see in the photos
The base is duck camo in olive, army green and brown, partly rendered in suede across the mudguard, side panels and heel section. Bright infrared mesh sits between those panels: on the toe box, tongue and around the heel collar. The Swoosh is black with a reptile-like pattern — from a metre away, it looks like an ordinary black Swoosh; up close, it’s considerably less tame. Beyond that, there are white laces, a white midsole, a visible red Air unit in the heel and red blocks in the outsole. AIR MAX is printed in red on the side.
Duck camo on an Air Max 90 isn’t a new idea; there are several versions out there, including orange and volt editions. This red one is the pair that stuck around. And you can tell from what it’s doing now.
Where the prices start to diverge
Now for the part I’m actually looking at. At the time of writing, size 36 starts at €119 and size 37.5 at €127. Move up the size range and size 46 doesn’t start until €277, while size 47 begins at €442. Same model, same stylecode CW6024-600, more than three times the price.
That isn’t a scam; it’s simply how inventory works. The sizes most people wear sell out first, while whatever remains in 35.5 to 38 still needs to find a buyer eventually. If you fall within that range, you can currently buy this pair for less than most people are paying. If you don’t, the honest conclusion is simple: waiting won’t cost you anything.
And then there are the outliers, because that’s where things get interesting. Size 45 is currently listed at €142, while 44.5 starts at €201 and 45.5 at €295. A €100 valley between two half sizes is almost never a structurally lower price — it’s one store with one pair that has been sitting on the shelf for too long. The same goes for the size 49.5 listed here for €150, while sizes 47 and 48.5 start above €400. These loose ends will disappear within a few weeks, in one direction or the other.
What the score tells you — and what it doesn’t
This pair’s Hypescore is 85: ATOMIC. Critical mass, the highest tier we have. What that means for you as a buyer isn’t “buy quickly,” but rather “the price isn’t going to drop on its own.” With a colorway that’s still building momentum, you can wait for a dip. Not with this one — the dip has already happened, and it’s sitting in the sizes nobody else wants.
So my advice is simple and boring. If you wear a small size, now is a good time. If you’re between 41 and 44, you’re paying the normal price — nothing special, no need to rush. Large size: leave it alone unless you really want it, because above 46 you’re mainly paying for scarcity, not the shoe.
Whatever you do, don’t check out with the first store that appears on your screen. Put the eight sellers of the Reverse Duck Camo side by side, filter by your size and see where the gap is.
