Timberland makes shoes you wear for years, so getting the size wrong hurts even more. The brand differs most on the UK scale: fourteen of the twenty sizes have a different value from what a generic conversion predicts. On the EU scale, it’s nine out of twenty.

Where things go wrong
At Timberland, US 8 is EU 41.5, while the standard chart uses 41. Further up the scale, UK 8.5 corresponds to EU 43 instead of 42.5.
That makes Timberland a brand you really need to convert carefully, especially when ordering from a British or American shop. The range runs from EU 36 to 50.
Men’s and women’s sizes are two separate ranges
Timberland has a separate women’s range from EU 35.5 to 42. It’s shorter than the men’s range and starts considerably lower, so the same US size corresponds to a different EU size for men and women.
One detail that makes finding the right size tricky: Timberland’s own UK site doesn’t include the women’s chart. The option to select it is there, but it doesn’t do anything — the page only contains men’s sizes. We therefore took the women’s range from the US site, where it is listed in full.
Fit
The 6-Inch Premium runs large. If you prefer a snug fit or are between sizes, go half a size down.
But this is a model-specific characteristic, not a brand-wide one. Outside the 6-inch, Timberland generally fits true to size, and even with the 6-inch itself, nearly two-thirds of wearers stick to their usual size without any complaints.
You’ll often read that the boot runs large “because you’re supposed to wear thick socks with it”. We see that explanation everywhere, but no one actually proves it. So we call it what it is: the boot has a roomy fit, and what you wear underneath determines whether that feels comfortable.

Still not sure?
Measure your foot from heel to longest toe and compare that length with the cm column. Do this while standing, at the end of the day, and measure both feet. The larger foot determines your size.
Once you know your size, you’re two clicks away from finding the right pair. Enter it in the filter and you’ll only see shops that have your size in stock, with the cheapest first. No more keeping multiple tabs open to compare prices, and no guessing at checkout.
Frequently asked questions about Timberland sizes
Does Timberland run large or small?
On the EU scale, Timberland differs from the standard in nine of twenty sizes. For example, US 8 is EU 41.5 instead of 41. So use the chart on this page to convert your size.
Is my UK size the same at Timberland?
Often, it isn’t. Fourteen of the twenty UK sizes have a different value from what a generic conversion chart indicates. At Timberland, UK 8.5 is EU 43 instead of 42.5.
Does Timberland have separate women’s sizes?
It does. Timberland’s own UK site doesn’t show them — the selection option doesn’t work there — but the US site lists the full women’s range from EU 35.5 to 42, which we have included here.
