Grijs hoeft niet saai te zijn, en de Flat Pewter bewijst dat meteen. De basis is een koele, metallic grijstint die over de hele bovenkant ligt, met wit, photon dust en zwart als accenten die net genoeg contrast geven. De golvende overlays — het handelsmerk van de Air Max Plus, geïnspireerd op de palmbomen van Florida — tekenen zich subtiel af in dat grijs en geven de schoen diepte zonder te schreeuwen.
