Diep fir green zet de toon: een donker, bosachtig groen dat je zelden op de Cortez ziet. Zachte suède overlays leggen zich over het stevige canvas van de bovenkant, en dat contrast tussen mat doek en fluweelzachte suède geeft de schoen meteen karakter en diepte. De suède voelt premium aan en bewaart lang zijn eigen textuur. Daartegenover staan de accenten in sail — een warme, roomwitte tint — en een vleugje light silver dat de swoosh en de details net wat laat oplichten. Kleuren die aan de Pacific Northwest doen denken: dennen, mist, gedempt daglicht.
De Cortez begon ooit als Nikes eerste hardloopschoen en groeide uit tot een straatvaste klassieker, en juist die lage, slanke lijn maakt hem zo veelzijdig. Wil je die groene tint laten spreken, hou de rest dan rustig: een crèmekleurige broek of ruwe denim, waarna de sail-accenten het geheel netjes samenpakken.
